Denmark likes its relaxation with a little shock to the system. Ringkøbing is a good place to understand the contrast. The old market town faces the broad, shallow Ringkøbing Fjord on the west coast of Jutland, while the long Holmsland Klit dune barrier separates the lagoon from the North Sea. Nearby Hvide Sande opens directly onto the North Sea, while Søndervig brings beaches and dunes within an easy outing from town.
