Overview

Alaya Dedaun Kuta gathers just twelve private villas near one of Bali's most-loved stretches of coast, arranged in the spirit of a traditional village. The design leans toward understated Indonesian style and open-air living, so the line between inside and garden stays soft. The nearest airport is about nine minutes' drive.

Lovely Afternoon Tea/Dinner and Spa Experience

We went to the hotel to have the lovely afternoon tea, Balinese massage at the spa, and dinner before flying back home. The driver, Dewi, was so wonderful and kind! Such an excellent service we could get.

Booking issue, dont trust their website

Very disappointing experience – confirmed booking not honoured I made a booking directly through Alaya Dedaun Kuta’s official website after seeing what appeared to be a promotional/deal-of-the-day offer. The website clearly displayed the nightly rates, the booking was successfully completed, a confirmation was issued, and my card was charged. Afterwards, the hotel informed me that there had been an internal system error and that the booking had not been fully charged. Instead of honouring the confirmed booking at the price displayed on their website, I was asked to make a substantial additional payment, with the alternative being cancellation of the booking and a refund. What is particularly disappointing is that the hotel has acknowledged that this was an internal system issue, yet the consequences have been passed on to the customer. We had planned our holiday around this booking, arranged our flights, and lost the opportunity to take advantage of other good hotel offers that were available at the time. There was also an additional international card transaction fee incurred when making the original payment. As the issue was caused by the hotel’s own system, I believe it is unfair for the customer to be left bearing this additional cost. The hotel has offered a refund, but the refund has not yet been received, and I am still waiting for confirmation that it has actually been processed. I completely understand that technical errors can happen. What matters is how a business handles its own mistake. Unfortunately, in this case, rather than honouring the confirmed booking, the customer was effectively left with the choice of paying significantly more or losing the reservation. We were genuinely looking forward to staying at this property, so this has been extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I would be very hesitant to book with Alaya again or recommend the property to my family, friends and wider travel network. A very disappointing customer experience and a major let-down after making travel plans in good faith.

    Very good.

The room was large, it was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. Employee Taira is also friendly and wants to come again.
