  Spice Spoons at Anantara

  A Wonderful Thai Cooking Experience with Chef Beer! We had a fantastic time attending the Spice Spoons Thai cooking class at the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas. Chef Beer was absolutely wonderful, making the experience both enjoyable and memorable. There was a great selection of delicious Thai dishes to choose from, offering something for everyone. It was a pleasure to learn more about Thai cuisine, its fresh ingredients, aromatic spices, and wonderful flavours in such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Chef Beer’s knowledge, passion, and friendly approach made the class extra special. We loved the hands-on experience and the opportunity to discover the secrets behind some of Thailand’s most delicious dishes. A truly delightful experience that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Phuket who enjoys Thai food and wants to learn something new. We received a certificate, the apron, a wooden cutting board and all the recipes! Thank you, Chef Beer, for such a lovely and memorable cooking class!

  Magical place

  Relatively close to the airport, this place is superb, filled with tranquility. The staff is extremely welcoming and attentive. We spent 5 days there as a family of 3 adults and 1 teenager. We booked a 2 bedrooms Mai Khao Quadruple suite. In fact, it is an apartment, with a kitchen, two double bedrooms each having its own bathroom. Ours was located on the top floor of a building, it also includes a furnished balcony with a view of the sea in the distance. Sunset from the room… on the other hand, the back of the building overlooks a rather ugly parking lot… Note that our suite was located in the newer part of the hotel, separated by a road from the main part where restaurants, beach, spa, etc. are located. This part is much less pretty. The fact that the establishment is separated in two by a road is not specified when booking. Ultimately, it was not too bothersome because a golf cart system works very well. During our stay, the pool and the restaurant at the foot of the buildings where our suite was located were under construction. So out of service. There were no disturbances and that is certainly why we were able to enjoy breakfast served in the main part of the hotel, in the middle of a small lagoon. A very beautiful place. The pool and the bar near the beach are superb. On the other hand, the only pool in operation was invaded one day by a group of children who were not very respectful of other guests… Sometimes it was difficult to get a table at breakfast, perhaps due to the closure of the other restaurant… but everything was under control. We really note the beauty and tranquility of the site, the kindness of all the staff. There is a small "village" right next door that offers restaurants and a few shops. Very convenient because the hotel is far from everything. Excellent massage on the beach. The beach, actually: it is magnificent. But given the season, swimming is prohibited due to extremely strong currents (we tested it, it was impossible even to walk at the water's edge). Too bad, but we were warned of this risk in the middle of the monsoon.. We will return without hesitation.

  Swimming pool and restaurant

  I was truly happy during the time I spent at Anantara. I am also grateful for the kindness of the dedicated manager. Her name is Minnie. And I extend my gratitude to all the staff. The pool and the restaurant were fantastic
