Overview

On the Ringstrasse in central Vienna, this building carries the signature of Theophil Hansen and Heinrich Förster, who designed it in the early 1870s. A careful 2013 restoration brought the palais back into use as a hotel while keeping its original detail intact. A careful 2013 restoration brought the palais back into use as a hotel while keeping its original detail intact. Today it holds 152 rooms and suites in a range of sizes, among them the largest Presidential Suite in the city and connecting rooms suited to families. Most look out over the Viennese streets or the interior courtyard. There is a spa, a swimming pool, a fitness centre open around the clock, and a cigar lounge, along with a lobby lounge, a breakfast restaurant and a Michelin-starred dining room. The former Stock Exchange, the City Hall and St. Stephen's Cathedral are all close by, and the airport is roughly four minutes' drive.

5 stars, nothing more to say
We were already guests at the former Kempinski Hotel. 5 stars everywhere. Friendly, attentive staff and a great breakfast. We would love to come back.

Beautifully renovated palace hotel
We switched from the Sacher to the Anantara and were thrilled! Luxurious and well-located, beautifully renovated palace, quiet and dignified, spacious and elegant room with state-of-the-art technology, very friendly staff especially at the bar and the concierge, good breakfast - service there very nice but could be more efficient at times, would love to come back, thank you very much!

Top notch hotel in Vienna
Palais Hansen really delivered for us! We arrived early in the morning after a trans-Atlantic flight and they were able to check us in right away. What great service. The staff were all very attentive and helpful. The breakfast service staff (Lindsey, Jorge, Kristina, Lana and Daysel) were noteworthy. Special shout out to Sander at the Concierge desk - he’s the best! Every recommendation was top knotch. Room was well appointed: comfortable beds, great shower! We had trouble getting the drapes to keep the light out and the couch was really low - very minor issues.
