Brindos, Lac & Château

Brindos, Lac & Château

Photos

Overview

Set between Biarritz and Anglet, Brindos looks out across its own lake, and the view sets the tone. The Château asks little of you beyond slowing down, in a setting the Basque Country lends naturally to. Biarritz Airport is about seven minutes' drive, and Anglet roughly eight, though the lake in front of you tends to make both feel further away than they are.

    if you want somthing different

We slept here on a little floating room on the lake. That in itself was a really nice feature which we did not encounter before. The room is spacious and has a double shower, a feature we really like. The deck is quite private and all amenities were there. The boat which picks you up is also a nice feature. The restaurant of the hotel is good but no longer Michelin star worthy. Personnel is friendly and all in all this is an amazing place to stay. The pool however was cold ( no outdoor heating although that is what they promise) but the spa area is nice........

    Restaurant

The hotel is magnificent, nothing to say. There were 11 of us for my birthday, but the evening meal was not good at all; very long; we waited 1 hour before being served; portions were tiny and not even original; as for the aperitif, we had a good bottle of champagne served without any accompaniment! Very, very disappointing when arriving as a group of 11

Beautiful hotel and location, very disappointing restaurant

Very beautiful location and hotel, the restaurant still needs to be reviewed. We booked for 11 people for my mother's 80th birthday, so 4 rooms and a lodge on the lake. We have an aperitif on the pontoon with a bottle of Ruinart, we wait at least for some (peanuts) 😊 after asking twice we are brought a small glass of olives and one of seeds (for 11.... Then follows dinner at the restaurant, a tiny amuse-bouche and 1 hour of waiting, the appetizers arrive and then the main courses which we almost thought were amuse-bouches given the size... No attention for my mother's 80th birthday (oh wait, we asked for a candle) not a complimentary digestif, nor a glass of champagne for her.. I also forgot that upon arrival at the hotel it would be normal to welcome guests with a drink during the distribution of the rooms (even flavored water) In short, a magnificent place, a more than disappointing restaurant... and yet a very steep bill...
