Overview
At the start of the twentieth century, this building was named the first thermal station of Cantabria, and it wears that history openly. The classical facade stands within a wide park of centenarian trees, its rooms and junior suites arranged inside a house that has kept its original architectural character. The classical facade stands within a wide park of centenarian trees, its rooms and junior suites arranged inside a house that has kept its original architectural character. At the centre of it is the wellness area, where a pool holds more than 85,000 litres of thermal water drawn straight from the Fuencaliente spring, fitted with swan neck jets, water beds, bubble baths and a lane for swimming against the current. An outdoor pool opens in summer, alongside a children's area and a full range of spa treatments. El Manantial handles the dining, with a lobby bar and a summer terrace for quieter hours, while the chapel, honeymoon suite and several halls take care of weddings and celebrations. Dogs up to 25 kg are welcome for an additional charge. Santander Airport is about 13 minutes' drive away.
