  5-star quality

  I stayed with my girlfriend in this property for 4 nights at the beginning of October, what can I say a nice 5 stars (unique) on La Maddalena, a spectacular island with coves, small bays and wonderful beaches that you must see in your life at least once or perhaps often. As for the property, it is a true 5-star with ample services from every point of view, we chose the package that included breakfast, room, 2h wellness path and private gazebo at the beach adjacent to the hotel. Starting from breakfast, excellent both sweet and savory rich in products (impossible to complain whether you are Italian or foreign there is something for everyone), room very comfortable “luxury style but based on a rustic decor and a bit turned to the antique”, garden-pool area very extensive with large relaxation areas, for the beach always available the round-trip transfer and accompanied by very kind and nice gentlemen, gazebo very quiet and excellent after a morning on the beaches to relax and also enjoy the sunset, wellness center nice, but I did not find some points positive (in my personal opinion) 1. The spa manager, kind but not with the shoe covers since they were normal “non-professional” shoes, then I didn't understand the use of hygienic caps “or rather right to use them” but…other part the use of swimsuits in the saunas and Turkish bath was normal, so since it is an adult only hotel, I would try to ban the swimsuit and using the towel consistently (I'm not saying to make a completely nudist area) and check better since other guests were also using slippers inside and there was no supervision, but all this is my vision. For dinner we opted to go out, except for one evening where we used (Ma&Ma pizzeria) adjacent to the property, we were disappointed, as it was highlighted as Neapolitan pizza, also noticing it on the photos uploaded on social media and review apps, the pizza turned out chewy and not Neapolitan style, consulting with locals who were there for dinner (they were also disappointed and were also wondering if the pizza chef had been changed or something else since previously for them it had not been like that) Finally I was a bit disappointed by the reception department, which during the stay often appeared a bit cold and not warm to us, and the confirmation had at check-out where after having handed over keys and closed the bill I received the phrase (well everything paid you have nothing to pay…that's it) I replied with (I'll leave the keys here, the towel cards, thanks for everything and see you next time goodbye) so we were not asked if everything went well, if we would like to return, what can be improved, in short it was missing (the way of presenting oneself in the final act of a receptionist at the greeting of the customer) we were disappointed But this does not ruin our vacation here, on the contrary I take the opportunity to emphasize that for those looking for comfort, relaxation and wellness in a 5-star on La Maddalena this is the right place

  Beautiful property, but the five stars still need to be earned.

  The resort is well-maintained and clean, the staff in general is courteous, the location is quiet, and the pool and beach area are pleasant. That said, for a property that presents itself as a 5-star luxury hotel, with rates at this level, the experience did not live up to expectations. It must be acknowledged that upon arrival by car, we were welcomed and helped with our luggage, and the car was taken to the hotel's underground parking. The room was clean, but it faced the inner side, toward the residences. In some places, signs of wear were noticeable, as seen in the attached photos, and the overall impression was that of a dated hotel. For 7 days, the cleaning service never left hand towels. The sore point is the extra costs: at the restaurant, at the beach bar, and at the pool bar, the prices are very high compared to the portions and quality. A sandwich at the beach bar cost €24, a figure that seemed excessive to me, especially at the end of the season. The pool is cold and has few lounge chairs, and the beach is rocky. The app for ordering from the pool and beach is also disorganized: an order with a drink and food required two separate requests, and after the first one, the app would freeze or redirect us to another page of the hotel. Furthermore, the digital menu did not match the paper one: some items present on the paper menu did not appear in the app. In summary: pleasant environment and courteous staff, but between extra costs, neglected details, and an unreliable app, the final bill is not consistent with five stars. I recommend it to those looking for tranquility and who are not concerned about the cost; those who expect a five-star luxury service might be disappointed.

  Gem hotel-resort of the La Maddalena Islands

  Grand Hotel Resort Ma&Ma – La Maddalena, Sardinia REVIEW TITLE: Gem hotel-resort of the La Maddalena Islands OVERALL RATING: Exceptional. In my opinion by far the nicest, high end spot to stay in La Maddalena islands. 5 star upscale adults only resort. Family owned for decades. REVIEWER BACKGROUND: Fortunate to travel extensively. I have done travel advising for years. We are always looking for that “magic stay” and we found it certainly at Grand Hotel Resort Ma&Ma. DATES OF STAY: 4 nights in September 2026 ROOM/S: 92 rooms and suites of high style levels. We were in a Superior Room with Balcony with Partial Sea View. Shower only, no tub. It was nice and decorated in a thoughtful upscale manner. LOCATION: 150 meters from the sea at Punta Tegge on the southwest shore of La Maddalena Island. About a 30 minute walk/5 minute drive into the small port town of La Maddalena. VIEW: Stunning scenery and frequent water views from various spots on the property. The hotel is in sight of the water on the other side of the road. Ma&Ma’s Beach Club is on the sea side of the road and directly on the Punta Tegge waterfront. BREAKFAST: Included in our room rate. Great. Extensive hot and cold buffet items plus custom prepared dishes like omelettes. Inside and outside seating areas. The stunning outside breakfast terrace is a wow faced on one side by soaring Seychelles like rock formations. FOOD/DRINK: There is a mini fridge in each room. We tried 2 of their dining options. The Beach Club - drinks and lunch were very good. Ma&Ma Pizzeria - ok. STAFF: Exceptional. Great front desk and room division management in FABRIZIO, great reservations manager in ROSALBA who was invaluable in all my interactions in planning, notably great bar & restaurant staff at the Beach Club, and universally wonderful staff at the front reception desk. NOISE: None of note. A peaceful country/sea locale. BEACH CLUB: The hotel has its own Beach Club just a minute’s walk from the premises, across the street. The pictures on the hotel website are very accurate of this stunning curtained double daybed Beach Club on a rocky cove. There is an onsite restaurant and bar. Suites do not pay to use the daybeds. If you are not staying in a suite, the day rate for one of the day beds is 70 Euros. The few standalone single chaises are complimentary - but have zero shade. UNUSUAL TOUCHES: We were offered a complimentary drink at our check-in in the beautiful lobby. Covered and uncovered on site complimentary parking which was very important. Monogrammed robes in the room. Both Brut and Rose Brut bubbly in the breakfast room. It is a wonderful service that you can purchase your Delcomar ferry tickets (to/from the Palau port and La Maddalena port) directly at the front desk of the hotel. OUR BEST EXPERIENCES: MA&MA BEACH CLUB. The pictures don’t do justice to how stunning this setting is. The staff at the small bar/restaurant were so fun and helpful. BOAT. Best experience by far was our day cruise around the La Maddalena islands on the Veliero Dolce Vita motorized sailboat - with a maximum of 12 guests. The pickup was just a minute’s walk beyond the hotel’s Beach Club. The hotel arranged this for us. DRIVE. We drove around La Maddalena and the adjoined by bridge island of Caprera. Stunning scenery. DRINKS at La Maddalena harbor front panoramic Vincanto Wine Lounge Bar. DINNER waterfront with unreal sunset at decades established restaurant Zi Anto at Punta Tegge.
