Overview

Hotel Villa Soligo occupies an eighteenth-century villa in Farra di Soligo, at the centre of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene hills that carry UNESCO World Heritage status and give their name to Prosecco DOCG. A full renovation has kept the historic character intact while introducing a contemporary hand, and the result reads as calm and considered rather than grand. It suits a romantic escape or a slower holiday given over to the…

    A Hidden Gem in Prosecco

What a find. This beautiful, quiet hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of the Prosecco region. It’s easily accessible by taxi, yet tucked away from the major roads, making it wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. The grounds are gorgeous, particularly impressive given the drought this summer. Our room was upscale, spotless, comfortable and very well appointed, with everything we needed. Housekeeping was excellent, with daily service and complimentary bottled water. The pool was a welcome escape from the August heat. There are a few areas showing some wear, but overall the pool area is well maintained, peaceful and a great place to spend a hot afternoon. The biggest surprise, however, was the restaurant. There has recently been a change in chef, and the food was outstanding. We enjoyed dinner there twice and both meals ranked among the best we’ve had anywhere in Italy. Beautifully prepared dishes, incredible flavours, attentive service and impeccable wine pairings. It was good enough that we chose to return for a second dinner rather than venture elsewhere. This is not an inexpensive hotel, and the restaurant is similarly priced at the higher end, but we felt the quality of the overall experience justified it. Beautiful setting, quiet atmosphere, excellent rooms, wonderful service and truly exceptional food. We would happily stay here again and would strongly recommend it to anyone visiting the Prosecco region.

The only decent one in the area, but I do not recommend it.

In short, nothing special. We have had better. The place seems more like a convent than a hotel. However, the breakfast is worth it after a bad night. We only stayed one night anyway. I do not recommend it, but it is truly the only decent one in the area. If you can, get away and go to one of the nearby towns..
