  Hotel Jolie Ville

  I was positively surprised. The hotel and the entire complex are huge and located directly on the Nile. However, it is well organized, so that there are separate areas available. One can choose between quiet places and places with activities or for children. I am limited in my mobility, but this was not a problem due to the available golf carts that took one to the more distant beauty, wellness, and spa area. I can only note that the staff was very friendly, helpful, and open-minded. The cleanliness was also more than good. The food, breakfast, and buffet were top-notch with a large international selection. Since I can claim to have extensive experience regarding hotels in Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor due to my many stays in Egypt, I give the Jolie Ville 5 stars. Since this was my 27th stay in Egypt, and I had always stayed at the Pavilion Winter in Luxor, which was closed this time due to a sale to a real estate consortium, I opted for the Jolie Ville on the recommendation of a long-time Egyptian friend. I must say, I do not regret it! I will check in at the Jolie Ville again for future stays in Luxor. Wonderful.

  An oasis of calm and civilisation.

  Our second visit to La Jolie Ville lived up to our expectations. It was my girlfriend's birthday (a year ending in a zero) and the staff celebrated with us in keeping with the special occasion. Singing Happy birthday in Arabic with genuine smiles and a special birthday cake too. There are three pools to choose from, all at a good temperature at this time of year (May) although two of the pools at other times of the year are cooler due to their size. I swam my laps several times a day and the air-conditioning was a welcome relief in our room in the hottest part of the day. Exploring temples and historic sites is easy due to the nearness and proximity to the hotel and there is easy transport. Excellent hotel staff, Lorna, Susie, and every Mohammed on site were all smilingly helpful and expert at all times. The hotel gardens are a wonder of Egypt with gardeners working away quietly every day and it shows. They are beautiful. Birds of all varieties are everywhere and they sing in happy tones as we would too. The food is very good and although there are specialist restaurants, we chose the food at the buffet simply because the variety and quality was so high. Many other guests have stayed several times, returning over and over. We are going that way too. The hotel is situated on an island in The River Nile and has very secure entry and exit gates manned by professional staff making our stay worry-free at all times. Transport is straightforward but taxi drivers with little or no English could be helped if hotel staff could speak with them about guests' destination to make it better for everyone. Just a suggestion. We were sad to leave but I know we will return not only for sunset cocktails on the banks of The Nile but to see those friendly faces at La Jolie Ville again. Thank you all.

  One of my favourite places on earth

  I have been coming to this hotel for the past 10 years, and every single time it feels like returning to paradise. In fact, I often say to my husband that if paradise truly exists, it must look exactly like this place. The hotel is set on its own island on the Nile, and the entire island belongs to the property. It is unlike anywhere else I have stayed. The accommodation consists of beautiful bungalows perfectly integrated into nature, scattered throughout an immense and magnificent garden. Walking through the island feels like walking through a botanical sanctuary: frangipani trees, mango trees, palm trees, colourful flowers, and countless species of birds everywhere. What I love most is the sense of peace. It feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of Luxor centre, yet it is still very easy to reach. Every morning, I wake up early just to enjoy the freshness of the garden air, listen to the birds singing, and take long walks alongside the Nile and across the island paths. It is the perfect place to relax, breathe, recharge, and reconnect with nature. The hotel facilities are excellent, with two huge swimming pools, a very well-equipped gym, and everything one could need for a comfortable stay. But what truly makes this place special is the people. The staff are consistently attentive, warm, and genuinely kind. Over the years, I have brought many family members and friends here because I wanted them to experience this magical place too. During my current stay, I was upgraded to a beautiful Junior Suite with stunning Nile views, and I am truly delighted and grateful. A special thank you to Lorna from Guest Relations, who was incredibly diligent and kind in organising this lovely upgrade. This place holds a very special place in my heart, and I already look forward to returning again.
