Amazing resort with a great staff.
Leiro residences are absolutely fantastic. We are a family of four and booked a residence (suite with two bedrooms and jacuzzi).
The resort is about 15 minutes drive from Malaga airport. Easy to find.
From the moment we arrived we were taken good care of. Offered drinks at the check in and given a little tour of the resort. The hotel has a valet service for your car and a free parking. You just leave the car outside the reception and the rest is taken care of.
The apartment was breathtaking. 179 sqm with two huge bedrooms, both with 55 inch TVs. Living room with 55 inch TV. A beautiful kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. On our arrival there was a welcome package in the room with fruits, chocolates, gin tonic plus plus.
The resort is big and since its built dowhill in a mountain it has different levels, so it takes a few days to sort out where the different ameneties are. Different lifts take you to different ameneties.
Guests staying in the residences have spa entrance included. The spa has some great water massages for feet, back, neck and so on. Just loved it.
Breakfast can be enjoyed in the main restaurant or as we did, had it in the roof top bar. Quiet and amazing views. You can order eggs cooked in all kind of ways, pancakes, churros and so on. Wonderful service in the roof top bar.
We did not eat any other meals at the hotel, as we were out most of the day and liked to try restaurants in the cities nearby. Though we had a club sandwich in the pool bar once, and its best I´ve ever had. Different but delicious.
Now to the icing on the cake. The pool on level -2. Just perfect. Relaxed atmosphere and always sunbeds and small rooms with roof and curtains available through out the day. You do not need to rush to hold on to sunbeds. Soft and calm lounge music and amazing drinks. Our best part of our stay was Ytalo who served us drinks at the pool. I´ve travelled to so many resorts, but never ever have I met the warmth that Ytalo showed me and my family. He would sit down and talk to us about football, where he´s born, how he got his name and so on. I have to admit I got a little lump in my throat when Ytalo hugged me in the reception when we left the resort. He said "I would´ve changed thousand guests for having guests like you here. Thank you for your love and respect". What a gentleman. I would suggest the hotel to have him just being in the lobby area to be a guest relation. Ytalo might be the biggest reason for me to return back to this resort.
So, Higueron residences is something to really try out. I´ve stayed in a suite at Atlantic hotels in Dubai, but must say I liked this a lot better because of the staff at the hotel. You´ll just feel so welcome at this resort through out your stay. Enjoy!
