Overview

NH Collection Taormina sits in the town center, a short walk from the Corso Umberto I and the ancient Greek theatre. Early twentieth-century architecture meets contemporary design across its rooms, many opening onto terraces and balconies that take in the city and the coast. The presidential suites add a private Jacuzzi and living area, and there are family and connecting rooms as well. A spa with sauna, steam bath and…

A Serious Failure of Basic Hotel Standards

    ### Complaint Review — NH Hotel Taormina, Room 603 1. **Room 603 fell substantially below the standards I would reasonably expect from NH Hotels and this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, with multiple basic aspects of the stay being unacceptable.** 2. **The television remote was visibly dirty and unhygienic, which is particularly concerning for an item handled repeatedly by guests and is documented in the photographs provided.** 3. **The bed was excessively soft and provided inadequate support, making it difficult to achieve a comfortable and restorative night’s sleep.** 4. **The advertised Chromecast functionality did not work, materially reducing the usability of the television and making the entertainment facilities effectively defective.** 5. **Sound insulation was exceptionally poor, to the extent that conversations taking place in the hallway could be heard clearly from inside the room.** 6. **The elevator was equally disruptive, with every audible arrival chime penetrating the room and repeatedly disturbing the otherwise expected quiet of a hotel bedroom.** 7. **The cumulative noise issue is not a minor inconvenience but a fundamental failure to provide an environment reasonably suitable for sleeping and relaxing.** 8. **The shower was particularly disappointing, with water escaping beyond the intended showering area and spilling across the bathroom floor, as clearly demonstrated by the accompanying photographs.** 9. **The shower design appears fundamentally flawed because ordinary use results in water escaping into areas that should remain dry, creating both inconvenience and an avoidable slip hazard.** 10. **Taken individually, these issues would be frustrating; taken together, they demonstrate a consistent failure across cleanliness, maintenance, functionality, comfort and basic room design.** 11. **I would strongly recommend that NH Hotel Taormina management personally inspect Room 603 rather than treating these complaints as subjective matters of guest preference, because several of the problems are objectively observable and photographically evidenced.** 12. **This stay has therefore fallen materially short of the standard I expected, and I expect the hotel to address these failures seriously and provide an appropriate response rather than offering a generic apology.**

    Amazing wedding stay

We stayed for 6 nights at the NH Collection Taorimna for a wedding. It was an excellent location for getting around Corso Umberto, the bay beaches and the wedding events. Emanuela from guest related me plan before our arrival rides, excursions and getting my hair done for the wedding. She was fantastic! The front desk staff is so welcoming, the pool is so relaxing and beautiful, the gym was clean and had all essentials, fusion spa was amazing. Had a wonderful massage. The daily complimentary breakfast was so extensive and you could also order hot fresh items, the room is beautiful and staff is very attentive. The rooftop restaurant was amazing. We had a gorgeous view of the bay and coast, food was delicious and impressive presentation. Highly recommend going. I have to make a VERY special shout out to Monica on the waitstaff. She truly took care of us from the amazing rooftop dinner experience, to our daily breakfast experiences. I don’t recall others names but everyone at NH understands true warm hospitality! The welcome Prosecco and departing blown glass gift was just over the top. Thanks NH to making me feel like a princess leaving for the wedding. All the nice compliments made my day.
