Two heated lagoon-style pools and private ocean access frame the days here, and the suites and rooms open onto private balconies with the Atlantic laid out in front of them. Each is thoughtfully furnished, with a modern bathroom, and the suites add a full kitchenette. The Armada serves Portuguese cooking alongside international dishes, either à la carte or buffet, while a poolside bar and an evening bar with live music carry the cocktails. The spa, gym and indoor pool wait for the end of a day out on the island, and an ocean-front solarium stretches along the water for those inclined to simply stay put. Staff will arrange golf, off-site excursions and car rental. Funchal town is roughly a seven-minute drive, and the Heliporto do Funchal sits about six minutes away.

First class service from all.
My wife & I recently enjoyed a week at this lovely hotel, I would like to thank the staff members who attend the pool area, on the first morning I went down the steps to take a dip in the sea, half way down I slipped fell backwards and smashed my head , arm and shoulder on the concrete step, the staff could not have reacted quicker and got me back on my feet and sorted out my cuts and bruises, a great big thank you to all the staff and management, and we look forward to staying with you again in sept. Kind Regards Frank&Eileen Gates.
