Overview

Shanti Maurice unfolds across thirty-six acres on the southern coast, its suites and villas set apart amid gardens that run down to the sea. Each opens through floor-to-ceiling windows onto a private terrace, many with their own pool, and the ocean is a constant, uninterrupted from the room to the water's edge. There is direct access to the beach, and an air throughout that is at once romantic and composed…

    Best vacation we ever had!

Our stay at the Shanti Maurice was far more for us than just a nice hotel vacation. It was our first trip to Mauritius – and a beautiful place to get to know the island. Above all, the people made this stay special. From the first moment on, we experienced extraordinary warmth, attentiveness, and hospitality. Since we come from the hospitality industry ourselves, we pay special attention to small gestures, processes, and lived hospitality. This is exactly where the Shanti Maurice impressed us lastingly. A special thanks goes to Kevin, the hotel's culinary director, who even made it possible for us to get a small unofficial look behind the scenes. We were allowed to get to know areas that normally remain hidden from guests, take a look into the kitchen, and meet people who ensure every day that everything works in the background. We were particularly impressed by how Kevin lives his role. Despite his position, he pitches in and steps in wherever he is needed. This attitude says a lot about true hospitality and good leadership. The passion with which Kevin conveys and models this philosophy left a lasting impression on us. 😊 Kanen had the special gift of fulfilling wishes we didn't even know we had yet. 😄 He supported us wonderfully in planning our activities, always thought ahead, and made our trip unforgettable. You never felt like "just a guest," but truly cared for. Soobia also really grew on us. He told us something new about the local cuisine, food, and specialties every day with great joy – and always let us try something. Especially during our first stay on Mauritius, these insights were particularly nice. And then, of course, there was our villa: an absolute dream. The beautiful ocean view was wonderful, and the temperature-controlled private pool made even the windier days sweet for us. Kevin, Kanen, and Soobia are just three of so many wonderful people we had the pleasure of meeting. Numerous employees greeted us with a smile, helped us, took their time, or ensured with small gestures that we felt comfortable. Unfortunately, it is impossible for us to mention everyone by name – even though many would have deserved it. ❤️ You can feel this warmth in the entire team. Culinary-wise as well as personally, we can recommend Shanti Maurice from the bottom of our hearts. It is a beautiful resort – but what really makes it special are the people who work there and live hospitality with true passion. For our first stay in Mauritius, there could hardly have been a more beautiful start. We are taking home beautiful memories, new inspirations, and above all the feeling of having been truly welcome. Many thanks to the entire team for this special time. Mauritius will always be associated with Shanti Maurice for us. We would love to come back! ❤️ Sabine & Egor

    Zen retreat

Booked Oceanview Pool Villa for 2 nights on halfboard basis. Hotel had a very calm and zen atmosphere, helped us to disconnect. Had seaview from our villa but not beachfront, but still very mesmerising. Private pool was perfect, lightly heated and was able to use at night. Room cleaning services at least 2 times per day and towels were replaced. Food was good but a bit disappointing for a 5 star hotel. I also tried Wednesday Mauritian buffet at Lakaz Mama, too few choices and not authentic Mauritian cuisine. Main restaurant being a la Carte was also not very practical. Kanen our butler was very warm and polite. He helped us for all our queries and booked our reservations and activities, he also organised buggy services to roam around the hotel.
