  A Great Getaway!

  My first time to Taaras, and it was an amazing experience! The milk-powder sand, the variety of activities, and the rustic rooms really made the stay feel exclusive. Shoutout especially to Nadia, our guest experience exec, who made sure we were always provided for and comfortable. Highly recommended for a getaway.

  perfect resort!

  has an excellent environment and service. The hot water system in the bathroom is great - the water flow is really strong and the shower is super comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good too. Lunch and dinner were decent as well. The best restaurant is the Indian-Italian place, but I can't remember its name. 😂. Plus, the scuba diving experience was amazing, and Instructor Aiman was great at teaching

  Would come back & spend more time

  The Berjaya Air tie-up with The Taaras finally had me tick Redang off my bucket list of islands to visit — direct flight from Subang (or Seletar in Singapore, if flights are available) instead of a long drive. The clear, azure blue waters were better than I'd seen in photos & videos, very comparable (if not better) than the Maldives or Flores Islands! Had a swim with turtles where they were literally less than a hand away from you - and honestly you don't even have to snorkel to see them cos the waters are that clear and the turtles do swim quite close to the surface. You can tell the resort is a bit dated but they've been making refurbishments to the rooms and are building new villas on the cliifside. Nothing much to shout about the hard product but my compliments go to: - The F&B wait staff at both restaurants: attentive, personable and will do their best to make your meals special. Shootout to Dino, Hridho (may have spelled his name wrong, but its the guy from Bangladesh) & Rizal - these are the names I could remember but everyone gave superb service. - The food: Mare Nero was better than expected! Wagyu cuts were soft, juicy and perfectly medium rare. Breakfast was a good variety (doesn't help that they indicate the kcal count, just made me guilty with my 3rd servings) and I made it a point to drink their teh tarik. - Activities: We only stayed 2 nights so didn't have time to enjoy all they had to offer, except for the turtle snorkeling activity. Shoutout to Hasni and the male guide who took us on the 10am tour on 28 Sep - personable, helpful and great service. Hope to return to try their kayaking and water cycling(?), and the ATV tours. - Rooms: Booked the cliff view suite and while you can see it's dated, the big whirlpool tub was a game changer. Nice touches with the big screen TV (smart TV with netflix), Nespresso machine, L'Occitane shower amenities. Although we could do better with WiFi that didn't disconnect as much. - Spa: Our package included 60min aromatherapy which we upgraded to 90mins. The top-up pricing didn't make much sense to be honest as it was more than what we would've gotten if we'd just done the 60mins and another treatment. But the treatments were good enough for us to book another hour just after checkout. Shoutout to Glory, Santi and the other female masseuse who attended to us — I was adamant on pampering myself for the weekend and the spa didn't disappoint! If you're looking to visit Redang for the first time like I did, The Taaras makes a good choice but stay at least 4 nights so you've time to do more and explore other parts of the island. Otherwise, lazing by the pool and at the beach works just fine too — a great respite from the haze in Singapore (although we had a bit of haze on our last day). Looking forward to when their new villas are ready for bookings for a bigger family trip.
