Overview

Nungwi sits at the northernmost point of Zanzibar, where the Indian Ocean meets a pale sand shoreline and the tide holds close rather than pulling far out, so the water stays swimmable through the day. Sandies Nungwi Beach is an all-inclusive resort here, part of the Planhotel Hospitality Group, with 125 rooms and suites and a character that suits couples after quiet beachside dinners as readily as families filling their…

    An earthly paradise

Wonderful experience at this small Bravoclub Alpitour property, good welcome from the local staff, the village looks very beautiful and characteristic. As for the room, we had booked a side sea view, excellent room, more than decent space, average cleanliness, where one could certainly have done better, as was the case with the slightly neglected little gardens we had in front of the room; overall, a nice visual impact with these very beautiful gardens throughout the property. The small pool has no lifeguard; certainly, in an environment frequented by families with small children, it is a significant deficit. The restaurant directly on the cliff overlooking the sea is absolutely fantastic!! The cuisine, led by a Bravo Club chef, did not make the same impact; one could always find something to eat, the menu was varied, but certainly the aspect of being in Zanzibar makes what is mediocre seem normal, HAKUNA MATATA!! As for the beach and the sea, a spectacle, the sand gives the sensation of walking on flour, the spectacular colors of the water with this seabed delighted us. The location of the village does not have a significant tide phenomenon; by eye, the sea can retreat at most 30 meters. You have to be careful when taking walks when the tide is low; if you go too far, you risk having to pass through the internal road to return to the village because the sea rises so much that it reaches the cliff under the restaurant, preventing pedestrian passage. On the beach there are the Maasai, nice even if at the beginning they were a bit intrusive, but a little familiarity was enough to make the stay truly pleasant. For excursions we relied on Pacioccone, he is there on the beach with his collaborators waiting for tourists, and with some good negotiation they took us to Nakupenda Island and the natural pools. TOP TOP TOP The entertainment was very soft, in line with the small property, the entertainment staff were always available and attentive to the children's needs. I promised myself to return because I fell in love with Zanzibar and your property is truly unique.
