    Aitutaki - Heaven on Earth!

Just got back from a 3 night stay at the wonderful Tamanu beach resort (wish we could have stayed longer). Lovely accommodation in the adults only area. Spa on site (with a 10 mins complimentary foot spa). Reception staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly and the same with the complimentary shuttle staff. Good complimentary breakfast. Eat in the restaurant for dinner, amazing delicious food and good service. Perfect location right on the beach, water so clear and warm, great for snorkelling, lovely small swimming pool too. We hired scooters and drove around the island, also went on a lagoon tour to one foot island. We loved Aitutaki, we didn’t want to leave this beautiful Island paradise!

The Giant Clam Tour is a Must Do!

We stayed in the adults only area. (This does not connect to the main area of the resort but a short walk along the beach or road will get you there.) The rooms are nice and spacious. There is a nice pool as well. The breakfast is generous, however we did not think much of the dinner meals and after trying a couple, went along to Tavae Resort, just a short walk along the beach which we found to be better. The beach has lovely white sand. The lagoon is shallow and good for snorkeling but not so great for swimming. While it is a pretty view, it is not the part of Aitutaki that you see advertised with all the beautiful shades of blue water and white sandbars. That is on the other side of the island and you need a boat to see it. However Tamanu have a Giant Clam Tour which takes you there. You get to do some good snorkeling and also with the Giant Trevally's at a second spot. Then a stop at Honeymoon Island. Take a reusable water bottle with you as the rooms just have carafes. All in all we enjoyed our stay here.

    Fantastic in all respects

Just returned after a week at Tamanu. Absolutely loved it. Great location, excellent friendly service from everyone at the resort - reception, restaurant, bar and the maintenance staff were all fantastic. Can't wait to go there again.
